Funerals at St Mary's

The passing of a loved one is always difficult and often traumatic. At St Mary's, you will receive the pastoral support that you and your family will need at such a time. Of course, we will assist you in the planning of the funeral service and arrange the printing of the Order of Service.

Christian Burial remains one of the most important aspects of our human experience. We all feel the pangs of death and loss. At St Mary's we proclaim the Resurrection of Jesus and look for the eternal glory of life promised to us by Our Lord. We look to the power of the Easter message and offer the confidence of God's love and promises.

There are many things to consider when losing a loved one, for many people, thinking through important details is difficult and emotional. We will assist you in the choosing of music, readings, memorabilia, presentations and floral arrangements.

It is quite common these days for people to hold the complete funeral service in our beautiful, historic  church, then to gather in St Mary's Church Hall or the lawn for refreshments in celebration of the deceased's life. However, the clergy at St Mary's will conduct Burials at any of the crematoriums or cemeteries in South East Queensland.

All of Brisbane's Funeral Directors are familiar with St Mary's and all can accommodate our famous entry off Main Street. St Mary's welcomes all the Funeral Directors from South East Queensland.

Parking is available for around 30 cars, with plenty of off-street parking available in the vicinity of the Kangaroo Point park and entry via the park gates into St Mary's gardens.

As with all the ministries offered at St Mary, our mission is assure all the love and peace of God which passes all understanding. Where possible, we endeavour to follow up all funerals with appropriate care and support. Our aim is to provide genuine care of all who are in need and offer a beautiful place to conduct a funeral that will reflect the love and honour to all who are affected by a sensitive and difficult loss.
