Hamish Strathdee X Contra Guitar Duo

Hamish Strathdee presents a recital of contemporary Australian guitar music, featuring three world premieres and new works developed in collaboration with Australian composers. The program showcases the guitar as a dynamic, evolving instrument.

The first half features solo works, including world premieres by Harry Sdraulig and Elizabeth Younan, alongside Paul Ballam-Cross’ This Wide Quietness.

After the interval, Strathdee is joined by Emma-Shay Gallenti-Guilfoyle as Contra Guitar Duo, performing newly arranged duo works by Tristan Coelho and Lachlan Skipworth. The recital concludes with the world premiere of Holly Harrison’s Bee’s Knees, written for Contra.
