Assistant Organist 2013

BrettBRETT STURDY completed his BMus at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in 2013, studying Piano Performance with Natasha Vlassenko. Over the course of his studies, he has been the recipient of both the Margaret Nickson Prize for accompaniment (2010) and the Walter Monz Organ Bursary (2011). Outside of the Con, Brett enjoys work as an accompanist with the Queensland Ballet and Queensland Dance School of Excellence as well as teaching and other freelance work as a vocal and instrumental accompanist. Brett's passion for liturgical music has lead to his studying organ with Christopher Wrench, and his subsequent engagement as Organ Scholar (2012) and Assistant Organist (2013) at St Mary's. In 2014 Brett leaves St Mary's to take up the position of organ scholar at Christ Church St Lucia.
